About Gosling

she’s a silly goose, sometimes.
a wild goose, as mary oliver would say.
she writes. poems, plays, prose, grafitti.
she’s a natural blue, currently brown.
head in the clouds, feet on the ground.
23 and nearly seven, simultaneously.
she lives in st. louis and near san francisco.
she left her heart in wisconsin, but she’s good with that.
she likes girls. she likes change (for the better.)
she likes social change, rather.  she hates change, personally.
she loves family. she loves easily.
she misses heaven like hell.
she’s a storyteller.
…among other things.

anything and everything you see here is a work in progress, similar to the gosling behind the curtain of it all.  expect no final drafts.

feedback is more than appreciated.  real feedback is basically the point, as revising without it is significantly more difficult, and revision is the goal.

  1. woo-hoo! I am so excited to find this. did you realize you didn’t actually leave a link on my blog? but I guessed it. this is so exciting! can I put a link to you in my sidebar? (doesn’t really matter to me b/c I am adding you to my bloglines…)

  3. Hey Mary, so pleasing to listen/see your videos. us oldsters are just now finding utube and enjoying it immensely. In one piece the phrase “alternate lifestyle” struck me. Now, semantics aside, for me all of life has nothing to do with style but with the living it, perhaps what I mean is that there is no such thing as an alternate life”style” just life. at any rate, you made me think about it. thanks

  4. thanks, Evie! I actually agree with you about the alternative lifestyle phrase. it’s not one I like/ use personally, and I hoped it would come across as tongue-and-cheek. the full line is “this ‘alternative lifestyle’ is love I will opt in for every time” … so basically, if people are going to call it an alternative, I’m at least going to contend it’s the one I prefer to “choose.”

    thanks for the comment!

p.s. I’m a “youngster” I suppose, but I’m just discovering YouTube as well. so perhaps you’re not as behind as you think!

  5. Mary, I have a blog thingy-ma-bobber too. I had an older one that I just got rid of and started fresh with http://faynlgirl.wordpress.com/. I’m going to have to look through all your writings here and leave you comments as soon as I get a chance. I really love your poems, I already know this from class.
    Love,
